Professional Development Registration - TERM 1 2024
Term 1 : SCIENCE IN 2024
Thursday 29th February
Something for everyone!!! If you're new to teaching, new to science, never used our science kits or if you are experienced using our great resource kits, we've got something for everyone.
Representatives from the Marine Stewardship Council from NZ and Australia will be with us as guest speakers during this session. House of Science has the "Big Blue Future" kit and the soon to be released "Antartica" kit that will both be sponsored by Marine Stewardship. Come along and get "hands-on" with some of the exciting and engaging activities from both of these kits and be some of the first teachers in the country to have a sneak preview of the much awaited "Antartica" kit.
We'd particularly love to see new teachers as well as our regular attendees. If you've got new colleagues at school this year bring them along so they can experience the kits and get an idea of the support available to them. We'll also give you the opportunity to view (and play with) some new activities that have recently been added during updates of existing kits.
The Marine Stewardship Council is an international non-profit organisation with a mission to see the world's oceans managed in a sustainable way. With increasing demand as a food supply and global warming both impacting ecosystems within our oceans education is an important tool in this fight.
What are the right messages to be giving our students and what are the key things they need to understand. Marine Stewardship will answer these and any other questions.
