Hutt Science is pleased to offer free the following Virtual Scholarship Workshops in Term 2, 2020; to all students attending a Secondary School in the Greater Wellington Region ONLY. Teachers are also warmly invited to participate.

Session 1: Chemistry - Wednesday 13th May 4pm-5.30pm

Facilitator: Suzanne Boniface     

Suzanne coordinates First year Chemistry Programmes at VUW and has a particular interest in students transitioning from High School to University. She has run Chemistry Scholarship Workshops for both students and teachers for the past 14 years, and has been involved in writing Year 12 and 13 Chemistry Study Guides and Workbooks.



Session 2: Biology - Wednesday 20th May 4pm -5.30pm

Facilitator: Thom Adams

Thom is the Engagement Co-ordinator for the Science Faculty at VUW. He has also been an educator for the Sustainability Trust, the Wellington Zoo, and the Otago Museum. This session will involve having a Doctoral or Post-Doc student in the VUW School of Biology present their research results and then Thom will guide students to tackle scholarship styled questions based on the resource material.

Session 3: Physics - Wednesday 27th May 4pm - 5.30pm

Facilitator: David Housden

David is Head of Physics at St Bernard’s College and highly regarded as an innovative teacher of Senior Physics. He is well known as an author of Physics Learning Workbooks and is sought after as a presenter for Physics Scholarship Workshops around the country.
